Northstar RIBs: Meeting Demand with Full Production Capacity

Northstar RIBs, based in İzmir, Turkey, is currently operating at maximum capacity due to a substantial order book that extends well into mid-2027. While there has been a decline in recreational markets, the company’s professional and defense RIBs have experienced a significant surge in demand, contributing to the backlog of orders.

According to Cengiz Arsay, the president of Northstar, “The order situation cannot solely be attributed to the current geo-political climate as these projects have been in the preparation phase for quite some time, in typical fashion with defense projects. However, we do see a notable surge in RFQs for SAR and defense products during the recent months. This momentum will enable us to continue investing in the recreational product portfolio as well as helping us maintain our international marketing effort.”

Despite the increase in demand not coming from the recreational RIB market, Northstar remains committed to developing new models for recreational purposes. The company recently unveiled its largest Orion series model, the Orion 10, at boot Düsseldorf and the Bosphorus Boat Show in Istanbul. Additionally, Northstar introduced the Vega 6.4 Fishmaster, targeting the growing fishing RIB market with innovative features such as a patented bow motor mount.

In January 2024, Northstar appointed Twisted Marine as its exclusive distributor in the UK.
