Robosys Automation Launches New Autonomous Trials Boat

Robosys Automation, a leading maritime autonomy software developer, has recently revealed its latest innovation in the form of a new autonomous trials boat. This new vessel, named the “Pioneer,” has been specifically designed to conduct testing and sea trials to facilitate the integration of clients’ software and hardware with the VOYAGER AI suite.

The “Pioneer” is a 6.75 meter SeaPro Center Console 222, supplied by Kirby Marine US, and is powered by a Suzuki DF 250 APX outboard engine. This combination of cutting-edge technology and robust design makes the “Pioneer” a standout in the field of autonomous marine vessels.

What sets the “Pioneer” apart is its full integration with Robosys’ VOYAGER AI software. The boat features a Dometic Seastar steering system, a Furuno radar, and the Suzuki outboard engine, all seamlessly connected to the advanced autonomy software developed by Robosys.

Currently berthed in Rhode Island, US, the “Pioneer” will serve as a crucial asset for Robosys, being utilized by teams across its global offices in the UK, Canada, and India for various trials and testing activities.

One of the key advantages of the VOYAGER AI suite is its versatility. Not only can it be integrated into newbuild vessels, but it can also be retrofitted onto any motorized vessel ranging from 2 to 320 meters. This flexibility, coupled with its ability to integrate with third-party systems, makes VOYAGER AI a game-changer in the field of maritime autonomy.

In addition to the core AI capabilities, Robosys offers a range of complementary options for the VOYAGER AI suite. These include the Collision Avoidance Decision Aid (CADA) applications, designed to enhance safety and support crewed and lean crewed watchkeepers. Other options such as Voyager Platform Control and Voyager Platform Management further enhance the functionalities of the AI software.
