Malaysian Offshore Services Player Sapura Energy Secures RM 40m Contract for Maintenance Services
Malaysian offshore services player Sapura Energy has recently announced the successful bid for a contract valued at RM 40m ($9m) for maintenance, construction, and modification services for offshore facilities in Peninsular Malaysia. The contract was awarded to its operations and maintenance arm, Sapura Fabrication, with the client’s identity remaining undisclosed.
The contract, which commenced recently, is set to span a six-month period, with a provision for a potential six-month extension. The scope of work encompasses a wide range of activities, including topside maintenance, facilities enhancement, hook-up, commissioning for both brownfield and greenfield facilities, riser maintenance, pig trap system maintenance, and living quarters upkeep.
In addition to the physical maintenance tasks, the contract also entails project management, engineering, construction management for onshore and offshore activities, as well as the provision of tools and services necessary for the successful completion of the project.
This recent contract win comes on the heels of Sapura Energy’s successful bid for a series of contracts worth $723m earlier this year. Furthermore, the company was able to secure a $250m bailout from the government in March to settle outstanding debts with vendors.
