American Ocean Carrier Seaboard Marine Welcomes Second LNG-Powered Containership to V-Class Fleet

Seaboard Marine recently announced the addition of the LNG-fueled Seaboard Victory to its V-Class fleet, marking a significant step towards sustainable maritime transportation in the Americas.

The arrival of Seaboard Victory on December 23 has been hailed as a milestone for the company, with Seaboard Marine emphasizing the vessel’s state-of-the-art technology that will enhance trade routes across the region.

Following successful inaugural calls at Callao and Pisco ports, Seaboard Victory has commenced its strategic rotation across the Caribbean Basin, Central America, and South America, bolstering Seaboard Marine’s operational capabilities.

The utilization of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a primary fuel source in Seaboard Victory reflects the company’s commitment to reducing emissions and improving operational efficiency. This aligns with Seaboard Marine’s dedication to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Constructed by China’s Taizhou Sanfu Shipbuilding, the DNV-classed Seaboard Victory boasts impressive specifications, measuring 247.9 meters in length with a capacity of 3,500 TEU and over 1,000 refrigerated container plugs.

Seaboard Victory is the second of eight LNG-powered vessels scheduled to join Seaboard Marine’s fleet by 2025. The first ship, Seaboard Voyager, was delivered in August 2024, further solidifying the company’s commitment to eco-friendly maritime operations.

In addition to its new LNG-powered fleet additions, Seaboard Marine acquired Seaboard Blue (formerly M/V Elbblue) in 2023. This vessel, converted in 2017 to run on both LNG and diesel fuel, was a pioneering initiative in sustainable shipping practices.

Seaboard Marine’s innovative approach towards integrating LNG technology into its fleet underscores the industry’s shift towards cleaner and more efficient operations. With Seaboard Victory leading the way, the company is poised to set new standards in sustainable maritime transportation.
