Sertec Marine Receives Lloyd’s Register Approval for CMCE Marine Devices

Sertec Marine, the Paraguay-based manufacturer of CMCE lighting protection devices, has received approval from Lloyd’s Register for its CMCE Marine devices. This approval marks a significant achievement for the company and highlights the effectiveness of their innovative technology in enhancing maritime safety.

Steve Horsley, sales director for Sertec, expressed his pride in the Lloyd’s Register approval, stating, “We are proud to offer an unrivalled solution that shields vessels from one of the most unpredictable and dangerous forces in nature: lightning.”

The CMCE marine devices, inspired by Nikola Tesla’s work from 1918, provide advanced protection against lightning strikes, a critical safety concern for vessels. By neutralizing electrical charges in the environment, these devices help reduce the likelihood of lightning strikes and safeguard vessel operations.

With the Lloyd’s Register certification, Sertec Marine continues to lead in maritime safety standards. The company had previously achieved certification from RINA, making them the only manufacturer accredited by both RINA and Lloyd’s Register in the field of marine lightning protection.

The CMCE devices are now available for immediate dispatch through Technical Marine Supplies, Sertec Marine’s exclusive UK distributor, and will also be showcased at the upcoming Palma Superyacht Show.
