Shearwater Geoservices and TotalEnergies Sign Three-Year Agreement for Marine Seismic Services

Shearwater Geoservices and TotalEnergies have recently announced a significant milestone in their partnership with the signing of a three-year firm capacity reservation agreement (CRA) for worldwide marine seismic streamer acquisition services.

The agreement solidifies the long-standing relationship between TotalEnergies and Shearwater, encompassing various geophysical data collection and analysis activities that support exploration efforts, production monitoring, and carbon capture and storage initiatives.

Under the terms of the CRA, Shearwater will provide a minimum of 18 vessel months of activity using its high-end seismic fleet, ensuring a consistent level of service delivery to TotalEnergies.

In a statement, Irene Waage Basili, CEO of Shearwater, expressed pride in the collaboration with TotalEnergies, highlighting the company’s commitment to driving innovation in the marine seismic market. Basili emphasized the strategic nature of the agreement, marking it as the first of its kind with a major E&P company.

“Shearwater seeks to evolve the global marine seismic market through technology innovation and by developing new commercial models. We are proud to deliver on plan through this strategic collaboration with TotalEnergies, a longstanding client of Shearwater and one of the true explorers in our industry,” said Basili.

The capacity agreement not only provides valuable visibility and utilization for Shearwater but also sets the stage for potential future collaboration across other services in the company’s portfolio. The partnership between Shearwater and TotalEnergies is expected to drive further advancements in marine seismic technology and support TotalEnergies’ exploration and production objectives.
