Solstad Secures New Contract for Construction Support Vessel
Norwegian offshore vessel owner Solstad has announced that it has won a new contract for one of its construction support vessels, the 2006-built CSV Normand Commander.
The contract comes from Brazilian state-owned oil and gas giant Petrobras, and it involves a bareboat charter arrangement from Solstad Maritime to Solstad Offshore, the contract holder with Petrobras.
Commencing in the first quarter of 2026, the contract spans four years and is valued at approximately $108 million, excluding ROV services.
This latest contract adds to Petrobras’ recent hiring spree, which includes the charter of two AHTS vessels from DOF. The 2007-built Skandi Fluminense and the 2009-built Skandi Lifter were brought on board under four-year contracts valued at over $220 million.
