ST Engineering to Build Specialized Walk-to-Work Vessel for Oil and Gas Company

ST Engineering has recently secured a shipbuilding contract for the design and construction of a Walk-to-Work (W2W) vessel for a prominent oil and gas company. This contract marks ST Engineering’s foray into the market for specialized vessels that support offshore operations.

The W2W vessel, which will span 97 meters in length and have the capacity to accommodate 106 individuals, is set to feature state-of-the-art technology. It will be equipped with an advanced motion-compensated gangway to facilitate safe personnel transfers even in challenging sea conditions. Additionally, the vessel will boast a 10-ton crane with active heave compensation, enhancing load handling efficiency in rough seas.

Anticipated to be completed by the first half of 2027, this project underscores ST Engineering’s commitment to delivering high-quality vessels that adhere to global standards. Tan Leong Peng, President of ST Engineering’s Marine division, expressed confidence in the company’s ability to excel in areas such as marine engineering, systems integration, and dynamic positioning, all of which are essential for constructing a W2W vessel.

“Building a W2W vessel demands specialized expertise in marine engineering, advanced systems integration, and dynamic positioning – areas where we excel. Being selected after a rigorous evaluation process is a testament to our expertise, dedication to quality, and compliance with global standards,” remarked Tan Leong Peng.

ST Engineering’s entry into the market for specialized vessels signifies its ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence in the maritime industry. With a proven track record of delivering cutting-edge solutions, the company is poised to make a significant impact in the offshore operations sector with the upcoming completion of this W2W vessel.
