St. Johns Ship Building Delivers Final Vessel for Offshore Wind Farm Support
St. Johns Ship Building, a leading Jones Act-compliant shipyard based in Palatka, Florida and owned by Americraft Marine, recently announced the successful delivery of the WINDEA Reliance. This vessel marks the completion of a three-vessel series of 30-meter aluminum Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs) built for WINDEA CTV LLC, a partnership between MidOcean Wind and Hornblower Wind.
The WINDEA Reliance joins its counterparts, the WINDEA Courageous and WINDEA Enterprise, all constructed at St. Johns Ship Building to support the development and operations of offshore wind farms along the U.S. East Coast. Designed by Incat Crowther and meeting industry standards, these Jones Act-compliant vessels are crucial for safe and efficient crew and equipment transfer to wind installations.
This milestone delivery not only signifies the successful completion of the three-vessel series but also highlights St. Johns Ship Building’s position as a top U.S. builder of high-speed aluminum CTVs. Through strategic investments in both capital and workforce, the shipyard has modernized its aluminum construction capabilities, allowing for the simultaneous delivery of sophisticated vessels tailored to the clean energy sector.
As the demand for renewable energy sources continues to grow, St. Johns Ship Building’s commitment to providing cutting-edge vessels for offshore wind projects solidifies its reputation in the maritime industry. With one more vessel from a separate multi-vessel contract still in progress, the shipyard remains dedicated to supporting the expansion of clean energy infrastructure in the United States.
