St. Johns Ship Building Secures Two New Contracts Worth $17 Million

[By St. Johns Ship Building]

St. Johns Ship Building, a Palatka, Florida-based Jones Act facility, has recently announced the acquisition of two new contracts totaling approximately $17 million. These contracts involve the construction of a Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) and two aluminum cruise vessels, highlighting the shipyard’s commitment to delivering high-quality, purpose-built vessels for various maritime operations.

The state-of-the-art aluminum CTV is designed to meet the demanding requirements of offshore operations, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of personnel and equipment. By incorporating advanced technology and sustainable design elements, this vessel will contribute to driving maritime innovation and supporting the growth of offshore infrastructure in the United States.

Furthermore, St. Johns Ship Building will also be responsible for constructing two aluminum cruise vessels, further expanding its production capabilities and reinforcing its presence in the commercial passenger vessel sector. These vessels will prioritize passenger comfort, safety, and fuel efficiency.

President of St. Johns Ship Building, Joe Rella, expressed his gratitude for securing these vital contracts, stating, “Our shipyard’s momentum continues to grow, and these awards are a testament to our expertise and ability to deliver cutting-edge vessels that are essential for a wide range of maritime operations. With our skilled workforce and upgraded facilities, St. Johns Ship Building is well-equipped to meet diverse shipbuilding needs with innovative solutions.”

Following its acquisition by Americraft Marine in 2022, St. Johns Ship Building has undergone significant investment and modernization efforts. The shipyard has increased its production capacity to simultaneously build multiple vessels, streamlining operations to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality vessels at scale. These enhancements have solidified its position in the U.S. shipbuilding industry, specializing in a diverse range of vessels that support commercial marine and government operations.
