StormGeo has formed a strategic partnership with Bearing AI to enhance its Voyage Optimisation Service with advanced machine learning capabilities.

This collaboration will focus on improving maritime efficiency by combining StormGeo’s expertise in weather intelligence with Bearing AI’s AI-driven vessel performance modelling.

The integration of Bearing AI’s technology into StormGeo’s service will provide maritime operators with optimised route planning, improved fuel efficiency, and lower carbon emissions.

Additionally, it is expected to provide more precise estimated time of arrival (ETA) predictions, while ensuring compliance with international regulations and supporting sustainability goals.

StormGeo Shipping senior vice president Petter Andersen said: “Our partnership with Bearing AI represents a new chapter in voyage optimisation.

“By integrating AI-driven vessel performance models into our trusted framework, we are offering the best of both worlds – StormGeo’s proven shipping expertise and long history with weather intelligence and Bearing AI’s adaptive technology. The result is a superior solution for shipping companies looking to optimise routes, improve fuel efficiency, and ensure regulatory compliance.”

The partnership reflects the maritime industry’s ongoing digital transformation and cements StormGeo’s reputation as a leader in voyage intelligence, according to the company.

Bearing AI CEO Dylan Keil said: “We’re excited to partner with StormGeo to provide shipping companies with a future-ready solution that maximises both profitability and sustainability.

“Our AI-powered solution combines data from different sources with adaptable machine learning technologies to build models that predict vessel performance in a wide range of operating conditions – complementing StormGeo’s performance models. StormGeo’s global reach, commitment to technological innovation, and trusted reputation make them an ideal partner for our technology.”

Furthermore, StormGeo’s recently announced a collaboration with Awake.AI in April to deliver AI-driven port analytics.

The partnership will enhance the company’s offerings with better insights into port congestion and improved ETA predictions for vessels.
