Subsea 7 Secures Contract for Equinor’s Fram Sør Development Project

Offshore engineering and services provider Subsea 7 has recently announced that it has secured a contract for work on Equinor’s Fram Sør development project, located offshore Norway.

The scope of the project includes engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of subsea structures and flowlines, totaling 53 km of production, gas lift, and water injection lines. Additionally, the project involves the installation of the umbilical system.

Following the award of a contract for front-end engineering and design in January, the technical definition of the development has been finalized.

Engineering and project management activities will commence immediately at Subsea 7’s offices in Norway and the UK, with offshore installation activities scheduled for 2026, 2027, and 2028.

While the exact financial details of the contract have not been disclosed, Subsea 7 has described it as a large contract, falling within the $300m to $500m range.

The Fram Sør area is situated 10-30 km north of the Equinor-operated Troll C platform, approximately 70 km northwest of Bergen. The Fram Sør project will be connected to the existing Fram and Troll C infrastructure.

It is important to note that the contract is contingent upon the approval of a plan for development and operations.
