Guests at Subsea Expo Awards Dinner Raise Funds for Food Redistribution Charity
Attendees at this year’s Subsea Expo Awards Dinner made a significant contribution to national food redistribution charity FareShare, raising over USD$6,600 (£5,000) in support of the cause.
Hosted by Global Underwater Hub, the annual dinner recognizes the accomplishments of companies and individuals within the subsea sector and wider underwater industry. The event, which took place at P&J Live in Aberdeen, drew around 450 guests who generously donated to FareShare’s mission to combat hunger and food waste.
The fundraising initiative was part of Global Underwater Hub’s commitment to giving back to the community. FareShare, the UK’s leading food redistribution charity, was selected as the beneficiary due to its extensive reach and positive impact on addressing food poverty.
With the support of attendees and the addition of Gift Aid, the total amount raised for FareShare exceeded USD$6,600 (£5,000). This donation will enable the charity to provide over 25,000 meals to those in need, showcasing the power of collective generosity.
Global Underwater Hub’s choice to support FareShare aligns with the charity’s mission to work with food suppliers and a network of charities and community groups to repurpose surplus food into nutritious meals for vulnerable individuals and families.
Looking ahead, Subsea Expo 2026 is scheduled to take place at P&J Live in Aberdeen on February 4-5. The event will continue to serve as a platform for showcasing innovation, safety, and excellence within the underwater industry.
Through initiatives like the Subsea Expo Awards Dinner, industry professionals are not only celebrated for their achievements but also given the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on society by supporting vital causes like food redistribution.
