Subsea7 Secures Major Contracts with Equinor and Shell

Subsea7, a leading provider of offshore energy services, has recently announced the acquisition of two significant contracts with major energy companies Equinor and Shell. These contracts mark a milestone in the company’s continued growth and success in the industry.

Equinor Contract for Fram Sør Development Project in Norway

Equinor has awarded Subsea7 a substantial contract for the Fram Sør development project in Norway. The contract, valued at between $300 million and $500 million, encompasses the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) of subsea structures and flowlines, including 53 kilometers of production, gas lift, and water injection lines. Additionally, Subsea7 will be responsible for installing the umbilical system for the project.

This contract follows a previous award for front-end engineering and design (FEED), which finalized the technical definition of the development. Engineering and project management activities will commence immediately at Subsea7’s offices in Norway and the UK, with offshore installation activities scheduled for 2026, 2027, and 2028. The Fram Sør area, situated north of the Troll C platform, will be connected to existing infrastructure to facilitate production.

Erik Femsteinevik, Vice President for Subsea7 Norway, expressed excitement about the continued collaboration with Equinor and emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering the Fram Sør development efficiently and safely.

Shell Contract for Underwater Inspection and Construction Services in the U.S.

Subsea7 has also secured a three-year contract with Shell Offshore Inc. to provide underwater inspection and light construction vessel services across multiple offshore assets in the U.S. The contract underscores Subsea7’s expertise in underwater operations and commitment to supporting Shell’s operations in the region.

Craig Broussard, Senior Vice President for Subsea7 Gulf of Mexico, highlighted the company’s pride in continuing to support Shell’s U.S. operations through advanced tools and technologies aimed at enhancing infrastructure reliability and performance.

Continued Success and Growth for Subsea7

These recent contract awards add to Subsea7’s growing portfolio of projects, including EPCI contracts in Egypt and Norway, a FEED study with ConocoPhillips for a project offshore Norway, and a multimillion-dollar assignment with Shell Trinidad and Tobago. Subsea7’s strategic alliance, Subsea Integration Alliance, has also been engaged by Equinor for an assignment related to an oil field off the coast of Brazil.

With a track record of successful project delivery and a commitment to innovation and excellence, Subsea7 continues to solidify its position as a trusted partner for major energy companies worldwide.
