Front Eagle Oil Tanker Collision: Navigational Incident, Not Related to Regional Conflict
Frontline, the owner of the Front Eagle oil tanker involved in a collision with the Adalynn tanker owned by India-based Global Shipping Holding, has confirmed that the incident was a navigational mishap and not linked to the ongoing regional tensions between Israel and Iran.
The collision took place approximately 15 nautical miles off Fujairah in the Gulf of Oman, near the United Arab Emirates (UAE), at 00:15 local time on June 17, 2025.
All crew members aboard the Front Eagle are safe, with no injuries reported and no signs of pollution resulting from the collision, according to Frontline.
Immediate measures were taken to extinguish a fire that broke out on the deck of the Front Eagle following the collision.
Frontline is attentive to the reports of a fire onboard the Adalynn post-collision. The company is closely monitoring the situation and cooperating fully with the relevant authorities as emergency response efforts are underway.
Ensuring the safety and well-being of the crews and vessels involved remains the top priority for Frontline at this time.
As per an update from the UAE’s Coast Guard, 24 individuals from the Adalynn oil tanker have been safely evacuated to the Port of Khor Fakkan using search and rescue boats.
Frontline has assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted to ascertain the cause of the maritime incident, emphasizing that it is unrelated to the conflict between Iran and Israel. The regional tensions have led to increased electronic interference, disrupting navigation systems in the nearby Strait of Hormuz.
