Twelve North East Scotland Businesses Chosen for Offshore Renewable Energy Program
Twelve businesses in the North East of Scotland are set to embark on a journey towards success in the offshore renewable energy market after being selected for the U.K.’s Fit For Offshore Renewables (F4OR) supply chain support program. The program aims to help companies looking to break into the offshore renewable energy sector, scale up their existing presence in the industry, or transition from other sectors such as oil and gas.
Delivered by the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult, the F4OR program has already supported more than 150 companies over the last five years. On average, these companies have experienced a 28% increase in turnover by securing new contracts and have become market-leading suppliers to the offshore wind sector.
The fifth regional F4OR program, funded and supported by the Energy Transition Zone (ETZ ltd), was exclusively open to North East Scotland-based businesses. Companies based in Aberdeen, Dyce, and Bridge of Don were eligible to participate in the program.
The selected businesses cover a wide range of expertise including engineering, surveying, marine geophysics, offshore inspection, project management, digital solutions, equipment hire, industrial consumables, and non-weld piping. Some of the companies chosen for support include AISUS Offshore, GS-Hydro, HPR ROV, Hydrus Energy Engineering, Ternan Energy, and Specialist Valves Services.
Davood Sabaei, F4OR Project Manager at ORE Catapult, emphasized the strategic growth opportunities identified by the selected companies in the offshore renewable energy sector. Over the next 18 months, these businesses will receive tailored support from a network of specialist advisers to help them enter the offshore renewable energy supply chain and secure new business opportunities.
