CRP Subsea to Provide Distributed Buoyancy Modules for Natural Gas Development
UK-headquartered CRP Subsea, a part of AIS, has secured a significant contract to deliver distributed buoyancy modules (DBMs) for a natural gas development project off the Eastern Mediterranean coast. The DBMs will play a crucial role in supporting dynamic umbilical and mono-ethylene glycol (MEG) risers, connecting to a floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) unit operating at depths of approximately 1,800 meters.
CRP Subsea’s innovative DBMs feature a high-capacity compliant internal clamp that provides uniform circumferential pressure around the riser, ensuring their ability to withstand the harsh offshore environment, including wave forces, currents, and FPSO motions.
While specific project details and the client’s identity remain undisclosed, CRP Subsea revealed that the contract was awarded by a prominent engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) company. Production of the DBMs will take place in Skelmersdale, with project engineering activities set to commence soon and delivery scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.

Additionally, CRP Subsea has received an order for DBMs for a deepwater oil field project in the pre-salt Santos Basin offshore Brazil.
