Norway’s Reach Subsea Conducts Subsea Inspection Campaign at TotalEnergies Fields
Norway’s Reach Subsea has recently completed a subsea inspection campaign at TotalEnergies’ fields on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) utilizing its innovative Reach Remote 1 uncrewed surface vessel (USV).
The comprehensive annual inspection comprised evaluations of subsea production systems, Xmas trees, integrity checks, anode status assessments, and seabed condition surveys at the Skirne, Byggve, and Atla fields.
In addition to the standard inspections, Reach Subsea also conducted extended survey activities to support the forthcoming decommissioning campaign.
The operation was carried out using Reach Remote 1, which is equipped with an electric remotely operated vehicle (ROV). The 24-meter USV was initially delivered in January, marking a significant advancement in offshore inspection technology.
Following the success of Reach Remote 1, Reach Subsea further expanded its capabilities by confirming the delivery of the second USV, Reach Remote 2, in June.
“Utilizing Reach Remote 1 enabled us to conduct the inspection with utmost safety and efficiency, showcasing the potential of unmanned offshore operations. We are delighted to reach this milestone in partnership with TotalEnergies,” expressed Nick Herrington, Project Manager at Reach Subsea.
