Norwegian Firm DeepOcean Awarded Framework Agreements by Vattenfall for Offshore Wind Projects
Norwegian ocean services contractor DeepOcean has secured framework agreements with Vattenfall for the provision of subsea cable operations and maintenance services on the Swedish utility’s operational European offshore wind portfolio. The agreements, valid for four years, cover Vattenfall’s offshore wind farms in Denmark, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, and Sweden.
DeepOcean will be responsible for a range of services under the framework agreements, including project management, engineering, pre-installation surveys, offshore transportation of cables, trenching, cable installation and jointing, termination and testing, post-installation surveys, as well as recovery and disposal of damaged cables.
To carry out the work, DeepOcean will leverage its personnel in Norway and the UK for project management and engineering tasks related to call-off orders under the framework agreement.
The first call-off under the framework agreement has already been implemented, with DeepOcean mobilizing the subsea vessel Olympic Ares, which has been specifically equipped with cable lay equipment and a jet trencher.
