Victor Offers Free Safety Audits for Industrial Gas Flow Control Systems

Victor, an ESAB brand, is stepping up its commitment to safety by offering qualifying industrial companies a free safety audit of their gas flow control systems and oxyfuel cutting and heating operations.

What Does the Audit Entail?

An audit from Victor involves a comprehensive review of gas flow, starting from the point where the gas enters a facility all the way to the flame. During the audit, a Victor expert will inspect for gas leaks, review hose and gas line sizing, check equipment (including selection, installation, condition, and performance), and evaluate operator skills and knowledge. The goal is to ensure that all aspects of the gas control infrastructure are functioning optimally and safely.

Real-Life Impact of Audits

John Henderson, ESAB’s Sales Director for Gas Equipment, shared an example of a recent audit where the delivery pressure at the torch was found to be 20% below the set value at the station drop. This discrepancy could have potentially led to flow restriction issues. By identifying and correcting this issue, the Victor team was able to improve operational safety and efficiency.

Commitment to Safety

According to Henderson, the safety audit and subsequent training are part of Victor’s commitment to safety excellence, referred to as Victor Safe 2.0. The company aims to ensure that everyone in the industry has access to the right equipment, safer operations, and well-trained personnel. With over 40 years of experience in the gas equipment industry, Henderson emphasizes the importance of continuous improvement and upskilling to enhance overall safety standards.
