VideoRay Awarded $30 Million Contract for Mission Specialist Defender Systems

VideoRay, a BlueHalo company, has recently been awarded a significant contract worth $30,735,784 to provide systems engineering and support services for their Mission Specialist Defender systems, specifically the Maritime Expeditionary Standoff Response (MESR) remotely operated vehicle (ROV). This five-year contract was issued by the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific and is aimed at supporting the U.S. Navy’s ongoing operations utilizing the Mission Specialist Defender systems.

This contract comes on the heels of a previous $92.6 million MESR contract awarded to VideoRay in May 2024, further solidifying the company’s role in providing advanced underwater robotic technology for expeditionary missions, mine countermeasures, and underwater security for the U.S. Navy. VideoRay’s acquisition by BlueHalo last year has strengthened their position in the defense industry.

The Mission Specialist Defender, along with other unmanned underwater robots from VideoRay, is known for setting the performance standard in challenging and mission-critical applications such as mine countermeasures and other man-portable unmanned undersea missions. With unparalleled maneuverability, payload integration, and operational flexibility, the Mission Specialist Defender ensures mission success in high-risk maritime environments.

With this new contract, VideoRay continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing cutting-edge technology and support to the U.S. Navy, contributing to the defense and security of the nation’s maritime interests.
