Wavefront Systems, MARSS, and Forcys Demonstrate Integrated Underwater and Multi-Domain Security Systems

Wavefront Systems, MARSS, and Forcys recently concluded a successful week-long demonstration of underwater and multi-domain security systems at Portland Port in Dorset, UK. The event provided defense and commercial maritime stakeholders with a unique opportunity to witness integrated detection systems in action, responding to live staged threats across air, surface, and sub-surface domains.

The demonstration, which ran from June 10-13, featured daily scenarios culminating in a stealth insertion exercise. A high-speed insertion craft deployed a dive team in an attempt to breach port security, with support from an airborne drone simulating a simultaneous incursion. Observers were able to witness the threat in real-time as Wavefront’s Sentinel Intruder Detection Sonar (IDS) and MARSS’ NiDAR Command and Control (C2) platform worked together to detect, track, classify, and respond to the incursions from underwater and the air.

Central to the demonstration was the integration of Sentinel IDS into the NiDAR C2 platform. This seamless integration of technologies provided situational awareness and rapid decision-making capabilities throughout the exercise.

Developed by MARSS, NiDAR is a sensor-agnostic, multi-domain surveillance and security platform that integrates data from various sensors, including sonar, radar, RF, and EO/IR. It delivers a unified, real-time operating picture on a single pane, powered by Hybrid Intelligence. NiDAR’s automated detection, tracking, classification, and response recommendation capabilities allow operators to monitor large areas without being overwhelmed.

Wavefront also used the event to showcase its new Sentinel Expeditionary Trailer, a rugged, self-contained system designed to provide rapid and highly effective underwater surveillance wherever needed. This system addresses the increasing global demand for secure and easily deployable security measures.

The successful demonstration highlighted the effectiveness of integrated underwater and multi-domain security systems in responding to complex security threats in maritime environments. Wavefront Systems, MARSS, and Forcys continue to innovate and collaborate to enhance maritime security and defense capabilities.
