Wilson Sons Partners with TotalEnergies for Logistics Support in Brazilian Oil Field

Wilson Sons, the largest integrated port and maritime logistics operator in Brazil, has recently inked a new agreement with TotalEnergies to provide logistics support for oil production activities in the Lapa field located off the coast of Brazil.

The Lapa field, situated in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin, will benefit from Wilson Sons’ logistics operations based out of the Rio facility in Guanabara Bay.

Under the agreement with TotalEnergies Brazil, Wilson Sons will extend its logistical support to exploratory campaigns in the company’s assets. Wilson Sons boasts two private terminals in Guanabara Bay – the Rio and Niterói bases – with a combined total of eight berths. Additionally, the company has established temporary bases in various ports along the Brazilian coastline.

The Rio Base, situated in Caju within the port district of Rio de Janeiro, spans an area of 65,000 sq m and features five mooring berths strategically positioned to cater to oil fields in the pre-salt polygon.

Services offered at the Rio Base include cargo handling, equipment storage, environmental services, fluid and bulk plants to support drilling operations, and other essential facilities. Wilson Sons and TotalEnergies are collaborating on the development of infrastructure for water, waste, and energy management to enhance operational efficiency.

TotalEnergies’ operations will also leverage the Guaxindiba pipe yard, a part of Wilson Sons’ business unit located 20 km from the Niterói Base. This facility serves as a storage site for drilling pipes and other equipment, covering an area of 63,000 sq m.
