Wind Multiplikator Signs Long-Term Charter Agreement for CSOV with Norwind Offshore

Wind Multiplikator, a subsidiary of Danish company Semco Maritime, has recently inked a significant long-term charter agreement with Norwegian shipping company Norwind Offshore for a state-of-the-art Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (CSOV). This vessel, named Norwind Maestro, is slated for deployment at an offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.

The Norwind Maestro, a newly built vessel, is expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2026. Additionally, a sister ship of the same design will be available starting from the fourth quarter of 2025. These CSOVs will be based in Emden, allowing for quick response times and efficient offshore operations.

Specifically tailored for the maintenance needs of the 400 MW Global Tech I offshore wind farm in the German North Sea, these vessels are a critical component of Wind Multiplikator’s strategy to optimize operational efficiency and enhance the long-term performance of the wind farm.

Wind Multiplikator recently secured the service and maintenance contract for Global Tech I, encompassing comprehensive maintenance of 80 AREVA M5000 wind turbines. The scope of the contract includes scheduled maintenance, legal inspections, troubleshooting with engineering support, and preventive maintenance campaigns to boost turbine availability.

“Our primary aim is to ensure safe, reliable, and sustainable operations while also optimizing operational costs at Global Tech I. With these cutting-edge vessels, we can execute our full-service contract more effectively and further improve the operational security of the wind farm,” stated Michael Munder-Oschimek, Managing Director of Wind Multiplikator.

Designed by Vard Design in Ålesund, Norway, the 85-meter-long CSOVs belong to the VARD 4 19 series. Engineered to withstand harsh offshore conditions, these vessels boast low fuel consumption and reduced emissions, aligning with Wind Multiplikator’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
