Nauticus Robotics to Acquire SeaTrepid International, LLC

Nauticus Robotics has announced a significant move in the underwater robotics industry by signing a definitive agreement to acquire all assets and business of SeaTrepid International, LLC. This strategic acquisition is set to drive innovation and revenue growth in 2025, showcasing Nauticus’ commitment to advancement in the field.

By integrating Nauticus’ AI-driven autonomy software, ToolKITT, into SeaTrepid’s existing fleet of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), the combined entity will revolutionize power efficiency and operational performance in the industry. The seamless communication between ROVs and Aquanaut, enabled by this integration, will unlock new service opportunities, setting a new standard for underwater solutions.

The revenue of the combined company is expected to skyrocket, projecting a growth of approximately 9 times that of standalone Nauticus in 2024. This exponential growth is a testament to the synergies and potential unleashed by this strategic acquisition.

Under the leadership of John Gibson as CEO and President of the combined company, and Bob Christ, SeaTrepid’s CEO and co-author of “The ROV Manual,” as President of SeaTrepid Operations, the companies are poised to leverage their strengths and expertise for global success. Both companies will maintain their current locations and workforces, anticipating new project growth throughout the year.

The completion of the acquisition is anticipated in May 2025, marking a new chapter in the evolution of underwater robotics. Bob Christ expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “Minimal ROV investment occurred in the last 15 years industry-wide, which has caused some stagnation. We look forward to combining with Nauticus to extend ROV capabilities and enhance execution on a global scale.”
