Using proven, readily available and type-approved system components, German navigation specialist Anschütz has developed an approval-ready, seamlessly integrated and holistic navigation and command system for autonomous and unmanned maritime operations. The system has undergone extensive testing in autonomous operation and is currently being prepared for use in prototypes.

The Autonomous Navigation and Command System from Anschütz provides navies with a sustainable capability and safety enhancement for unmanned systems while retaining full technological sovereignty. It ensures precise and safe autonomous navigation, control and operation of unmanned platforms, while also enabling remote monitoring and control from a Tactical Operations Centre (TOC), such as a shore station or mothership. Anschütz systems for the TOC can also be implemented as a containerised, mobile solution.

Autonomous navigation, tactical mission functions and automation management are based on established technologies developed by Anschütz. At the core of the integrated solution is the SYNAPSIS Integrated Navigation System, making use of and enhancing proven and secure technology.

Its capabilities include the monitoring and control of platforms, the generation of a comprehensive maritime situational picture using navigation sensors, optical sensors and surveillance systems, as well as extended tactical target management.

Autonomous Navigation and Command System

Unmanned vessels are precisely and safely navigated and dynamically manoeuvred using automated course and speed control, supported by a collision avoidance system. Target detection and classification are automated, and a range of tactical functions are seamlessly integrated into the system.

The meta-architecture of the system allows scaling from assistance systems to highly automated systems, and from the monitoring and control of Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) to automation solutions for large combatants.

As a reusable, modular system based on existing system elements, designs and standardised interfaces, the solution allows for easy integration and expansion of sensors, automation processes and communication systems, while also supporting customer-specific security requirements. The system can be adapted to comply with future regulations and standards.

An important differentiator of Anschütz’s Autonomous Navigation and Command System is the functional integration of autonomous navigation with mission system components. Thanks to the availability and automation of tactical mission functions and the fusion of all onboard data into a common operating picture, the system creates a significant capability advantage and offers high flexibility for various missions.

By integrating multiple units into an autonomous system network, the speed and effectiveness of maritime operations can be significantly increased.

Typical application scenarios include ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance) operations, securing critical maritime infrastructure and coastlines, as well as mine detection and identification of other underwater anomalies.

Anschütz will present further information on the Autonomous Navigation and Command System at the Unmanned Systems X event in Bonn on 25 and 26 March.

Press Release

the title “The Benefits of Mindfulness Meditation”

In today’s fast-paced world, finding moments of peace and relaxation can be a challenge. One effective way to cultivate a sense of calm and clarity is through mindfulness meditation. This ancient practice has been gaining popularity in recent years, and for good reason – it offers a wide range of benefits for both the mind and body.

One of the key benefits of mindfulness meditation is its ability to reduce stress and anxiety. By focusing on the present moment and letting go of worries about the past or future, practitioners can experience a sense of calm and relaxation. Studies have shown that regular meditation practice can lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol, leading to a more balanced and peaceful state of mind.

In addition to reducing stress, mindfulness meditation can also improve focus and concentration. By training the mind to stay present and focused on one task at a time, practitioners can enhance their ability to pay attention and retain information. This can be especially helpful in today’s digital age, where distractions are constant and it can be difficult to stay focused on the task at hand.

Furthermore, mindfulness meditation has been shown to have physical benefits as well. Research has found that regular meditation practice can lower blood pressure, improve immune function, and reduce inflammation in the body. This can lead to a stronger immune system, better overall health, and a decreased risk of chronic diseases.

Another benefit of mindfulness meditation is its ability to improve emotional well-being. By cultivating a sense of awareness and acceptance of one’s thoughts and emotions, practitioners can develop greater emotional resilience and a more positive outlook on life. This can lead to improved relationships, increased happiness, and a greater sense of overall well-being.

In conclusion, mindfulness meditation offers a wide range of benefits for both the mind and body. By incorporating this practice into your daily routine, you can experience reduced stress, improved focus, better physical health, and enhanced emotional well-being. So why not give it a try and see the positive effects for yourself?
