Sonardyne Enhances Origin ADCPs with Echosounder Feature

Sonardyne, a global leader in underwater technology solutions, has introduced a new echosounder feature to its Origin acoustic Doppler current profilers (ADCPs), significantly improving their capability to gather comprehensive marine environmental data in a single deployment.

This latest enhancement allows for simultaneous measurement of water velocities and biological activity, as the echosounder complements the ADCP’s existing functions to provide detailed insights into marine environments. The data collected can then be processed using Echoview software.

The echosounder feature captures precise backscatter measurements from objects in the water column, such as gas bubbles, marine organisms, fish schools, internal waves, and sediment plumes. When combined with the water velocity data from the ADCP, users gain a holistic view of the marine environment from a single instrument.

Echoview is an advanced software for processing echosounder and sonar data, offering a range of capabilities from data visualization to target detection and analysis. Sonardyne and Echoview Software have collaborated to ensure seamless integration for Origin ADCP users to process echosounder data using Echoview.

This partnership between Sonardyne and Echoview Software underscores their joint commitment to delivering advanced solutions for marine environmental monitoring, supporting sustainable offshore developments through comprehensive data collection and analysis tools.
