The Atlantic Zonda Drillship Begins Operations for Petrobras

The seventh generation Atlantic Zonda drillship, managed by Ventura Offshore Midco, has officially commenced operations for Petrobras under a three-year drilling contract. This significant milestone marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in offshore drilling.

Managed by Ventura Offshore through strategic marketing and operating agreements with Eldorado Drilling, the Atlantic Zonda is poised to deliver exceptional performance in the challenging offshore environment. Ventura Offshore will earn management fees and reimbursable revenues from these agreements, solidifying its position as a leading player in the industry.

After the successful delivery of the Atlantic Zonda from Samsung shipyards, extensive preparations were carried out in Singapore. The rig underwent upgrades to incorporate the latest technological advancements in drilling, ensuring optimal efficiency and safety during operations.

The three-year contract represents the inaugural assignment for the Atlantic Zonda, with an option for an additional three years with Petrobras. This long-term commitment underscores the confidence that Petrobras has in the capabilities of the drillship and the expertise of the Ventura Offshore team.

Equipped with Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) capability, the Atlantic Zonda is a full dual activity rig that is well-equipped to handle the complex challenges of deep-sea drilling. This cutting-edge technology will enable the rig to deliver superior performance and efficiency throughout the duration of the contract.

Guilherme Coelho, CEO of Ventura Offshore, expressed his appreciation for the dedication and hard work of the entire team in bringing the project to fruition. He also acknowledged the invaluable partnership and support of Eldorado Drilling in making this venture a success. With a focus on delivering safe and efficient operations, Ventura Offshore is committed to exceeding Petrobras’ expectations.
