Eidesvik Appoints Kenneth Walland as New Chairman

Norwegian offshore vessel owner and operator Eidesvik has appointed former Edda Wind chief executive Kenneth Walland as its new chairman. Walland takes over from Arne Austreid and will oversee the company’s board until 2027.

Walland officially stepped down from Edda Wind on January 1, 2025, after leading the offshore wind support vessel pureplay backed by the shipping heavyweights John Fredriksen, Wilhelmsen, and Idan Ofer from April 2021.

With a career primarily at Østensjø Rederi, where he served as the head from 2016 before joining Edda Wind, Walland brings a wealth of experience to his new role at Eidesvik.

Oslo-listed Eidesvik currently operates 15 offshore support vessels in its fleet, including two construction support vessel (CSV) newbuildings set for delivery in 2026 and 2027. The company witnessed a change in leadership last year when Helga Cotgrove took over as chief executive from Gitte Gard Talmo, who resigned after a 22-year tenure at Eidesvik in various management roles.
