Navantia Seanergies Delivers Second Substation Jacket for Ocean Winds

Navantia Seanergies, the green energies division of Spanish shipbuilder Navantia, has successfully delivered its second substation jacket for Ocean Winds for the offshore wind farm at Dieppe Le Tréport in France. The jacket, weighing approximately 1,900 tonnes and standing almost 54 meters tall, was fully fabricated at the Puerto Real shipyard in Spain and recently transported to its destination on France’s Atlantic coast.

The journey of the substation jacket began at the south basin of the Puerto Real shipyard, where it was loaded out on May 13, 2025. Following its departure, adjustment and mooring operations were conducted to ensure its readiness for installation at the offshore wind farm.

This recent delivery marks another milestone in Navantia Seanergies’ collaboration with Ocean Winds, a Madrid-based offshore wind company established as a joint venture between EDPR and ENGIE. A year ago, a similar jacket was delivered to Ocean Winds and is now successfully installed at the Îles d’Yeu et Noirmoutier offshore wind farm in France.

As part of their partnership, Navantia Seanergies and Ocean Winds have signed a capacity-reservation agreement for the manufacture of components for future international offshore wind farms. This includes the production of floating structures for upcoming projects in Spain, Portugal, and other parts of Europe.

The Dieppe Le Tréport offshore wind farm, with a capacity of 496 MW, will feature 62 wind turbines capable of supplying electricity to approximately 850,000 people annually. This project represents a significant step towards sustainable energy production and contributes to the growth of the offshore wind industry in Europe.
