FincoEnergies has announced the adoption of electronic Bunker Delivery Note (eBDN) technology from Ofiniti throughout its marine biofuel operations in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) region.
This move is set to transform the company’s fuel delivery operations in the ARA region, which is one of the busiest fuel supply hubs globally.
The marine biofuel market is known for its complex logistics and opaque operations, according to FincoEnergies.
The company aims to tackle these challenges directly by incorporating Ofiniti’s eBDN technology.
The integration of the technology is expected to enhance transparency, efficiency, and sustainability within the bunkering process.
Furthermore, the technology offers benefits such as reduced administrative tasks, fewer errors, and increased trust in delivery documentation.
FincoEnergies director trading and operations Leon Arets said: “Schedules are becoming increasingly tighter as demand for sustainable biofuels grows.
“We’re adopting a platform that enhances structure and responsiveness. This digital leap allows us to not only scale efficiently, but also deliver greater transparency and operational excellence to our clients.”
The initiative is driven by the FuelBoss platform, which has been developed by Ofiniti in partnership with the logistics provider, VT Group.
The FuelBoss platform is engineered to replace manual processes with efficient digital workflows, enhancing efficiency and data accuracy.
It is expected to streamline FincoEnergies’ bunkering process with real-time coordination, automated documentation, and immediate data sharing among stakeholders.
Ofiniti global director of sales Brix Sparsø said: “Our work with LNG suppliers laid the groundwork. But this collaboration with FincoEnergies and VT Group marks the first large-scale commitment to digital delivery workflows for biofuels. It’s a turning point for the region.”
In November last year, ZeroNorth, Vitol, and the Port of Rotterdam launched a four-week pilot of digital bunker delivery notifications.
The trial launched ZeroNorth’s eBDN solution to improve operational efficiency and data quality.
