Singapore Shipyard Seatrium Wins FSRU Conversion Contract from Kinetics

Singapore shipyard group Seatrium has secured an FSRU conversion contract from Kinetics, an energy transition initiative by Karadeniz subsidiary Karpowership. This contract follows Kinetics’ decision to exercise the option for a fourth FSRU conversion project with Seatrium, which was originally announced in April 2024. The initial agreement included three LNG carrier conversions into FSRUs, with the possibility of a fourth project.

The project is scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2025, with the converted FSRU to be named LNGT Turkiye. The scope of work involves the installation of a regasification module, spread-mooring system, and the integration of essential supporting systems such as cargo handling, offloading, utility, electrical, and automation systems.

This marks the seventh FSRU project awarded by Kinetics, with four projects already delivered – Karmol LNGT Powership Africa, Asia, Europe, and most recently, Antarctica. Two more FSRU conversion projects are currently in progress at Seatrium’s yard, with deliveries expected later this year and in the first quarter of 2026.

Seatrium has an impressive track record, having completed a total of 21 FSRU and FSU conversion projects since 2007. The company’s expertise and experience in this field make them a trusted partner for clients seeking reliable and efficient solutions for their energy infrastructure needs.
