Norway’s Aurora Offshore Welcomes Two New AHTS Vessels

Recently, Norway-based provider of vessel management services, Aurora Offshore, part of the Borealis Group, has added two anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels to its fleet. The vessels, Siem Pearl and Siem Challenger, were previously operated by Sea1 Offshore, formerly known as Siem Offshore.

The transition of management for the vessels took place in Harøy, Norway for Siem Pearl and in Aberdeen for Siem Challenger. This move marks the beginning of a new collaboration between Aurora Offshore, Sea1 Offshore, and Siem Oil Services Invest, with a total of 11 vessels set to be managed by Aurora.

“These quality vessels will be a great addition to our growing Anchor Handling fleet and allow us to offer more solutions to our customers. We wish the vessels and crew members the very best success under their new management in Aurora Offshore,” stated Aurora.

Siem Pearl and Siem Challenger, both built in 2009, are currently operating in the North Sea spot market and will soon be available for hire. Siem Pearl features a VS491 CD design, while Siem Challenger is designed as a Havyard 842.

Earlier this year, Siem Offshore announced the sale of Siem Pearl along with eight other vessels. Additionally, the company placed an order with Cosco Shipping for two next-generation offshore energy support vessels (OESVs) that will be methanol-ready.
