BP Signs New Contract with Aize for Visualization Services

UK-headquartered energy giant BP has signed a new contract with digital twin software provider Aize enabling the latter to provide visualization services for various offshore assets operated by the British firm.

According to the tech player, the four-year contract entails an expansion of its software across new regions and BP facilities globally. The deal builds on what Aize says has been a successful technical and operational delivery in the North Sea, Caspian Sea, and West Africa.

“We are delighted to support bp’s agenda of operational innovation, leveraging Aize technology to enhance efficiency and deliver substantial value. Under the contract, announced today, we have already deployed Aize to twenty bp facilities,” said Nicholas Dent, Senior Vice President (SVP) of Clients and Strategic Partnerships at Aize.

“This partnership has exemplified how collaboration can drive efficiency, breaking down traditional silos to achieve seamless integration and teamwork. With this contract, we aim to extend our support into new geographies and new types of facilities, empowering bp to adopt new ways of working and embrace change.”

Aize enables visualization of engineering and operational data by contextualizing information from various internal data sources. The technology enables users to get a unified digital view of physical assets.

The UK major extended the software provider’s contract covering five North Sea assets in 2023. A year later, Aker BP decided to expand its collaboration with Aize by including a software-as-a-service (SaaS) agreement for all relevant facilities.

BP recently achieved a milestone at one of its projects in Africa–the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project offshore Mauritania and Senegal. This is said to be the biggest in its portfolio and one of the deepest, most complex gas developments in Africa.

Following the introduction of first gas from its subsea wells to the floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) GTA forming part of Phase 1 of the project, the energy major started the full commissioning of Golar LNG’s FLNG Gimi, which received feed gas from the FPSO on January 18, 2025.
