German Navigation Specialist Anschütz Introduces Autonomous Navigation and Command System for Unmanned Maritime Operations

German navigation specialist Anschütz has unveiled a cutting-edge navigation and command system designed specifically for autonomous and unmanned maritime operations. The system, which is now approval-ready after undergoing rigorous testing in autonomous operation, is currently in the final stages of preparation for deployment in prototypes.

Enhancing Safety and Capability for Navies

The autonomous navigation and command system developed by Anschütz offers navies a sustainable solution for enhancing the safety and capability of unmanned systems. It enables autonomous navigation, control, and operation of unmanned platforms, while also facilitating remote monitoring and control from a Tactical Operations Centre (TOC) such as a shore station or mothership.

Additionally, Anschütz’s systems for TOCs can be implemented as a containerized, mobile solution, providing flexibility and adaptability to different operational environments.

Synapsis Integrated Navigation System at the Core

At the heart of Anschütz’s integrated solution lies the SYNAPSIS Integrated Navigation System. This advanced system offers a range of capabilities, including platform monitoring and control, generation of comprehensive maritime situational awareness through navigation sensors, optical sensors, and surveillance systems, as well as extended tactical target management.

Unmanned vessels can be navigated and dynamically maneuvered with automated course and speed control, supported by a collision avoidance system. Target detection and classification are automated, and various tactical functions are seamlessly integrated into the system.

Application Scenarios

The Anschütz autonomous navigation and command system is well-suited for a variety of application scenarios, including Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR) operations, securing critical maritime infrastructure and coastlines, as well as mine detection and identification of other underwater anomalies.
