UK-based Borealis Maritime Sells Four Platform Supply Vessels

UK-based shipping asset manager Borealis Maritime has recently finalized the sale of four platform supply vessels from its fleet.

The vessels included in this transaction are the 2013-built 3,500 dwt Aurora Pearl, Aurora Diamond, Aurora Emerald, and Aurora Sapphire. The sale was conducted for an undisclosed sum.

The Aurora Pearl has been acquired by Grupo TMM in Mexico, while the remaining three vessels were sold to Nigerian interests in a bundled deal.

All four ships were originally constructed by Damen Shipyards Galati in Romania for World Wide Supply.

Borealis Maritime established its offshore support vessel (OSV) unit, Aurora Offshore, in 2021. This Norway-based division specializes in the commercial and technical management of platform supply vessels (PSVs), anchor handling tug supply vessels (AHTS), and offshore construction vessels (OCVs) on behalf of both Borealis and external owners, such as Siem Offshore and Capital Offshore from Greece.

In addition to its OSV activities, Borealis Maritime has also been involved in the containership segment. The company recently concluded a deal involving the sale of its 2009-built 4,563 TEU container vessel, Debussy, to prominent French liner CMA CGM for approximately $31 million.
