DOF Group Secures Petrobras Contract for Two AHTS Vessels
Norwegian offshore supply vessel owner DOF Group has recently announced the successful securing of a contract with Petrobras for two of its anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels. The contracts, valued at over $220 million, are for the vessels Skandi Fluminense and Skandi Lifter.
Skandi Fluminense, a 2007 Brazilian-built AHTS vessel boasting a bollard pull of 211t, will be joined by Skandi Lifter, a foreign-flagged 250t AHTS vessel constructed in 2009. Both vessels have been awarded four-year contracts with Petrobras.
This achievement comes as a result of a rigorous AHTS tender process conducted by Petrobras, which also led to the awarding of contracts for other DOF vessels like Skandi Logger, Skandi Iguaçu, Skandi Angra, Skandi Paraty, and Skandi Urca earlier in May 2025.
Skandi Fluminense is slated to commence operations in January 2026, with Skandi Lifter following suit in February of the same year. As part of the contract requirements, Skandi Lifter will undergo reflagging to the Brazilian flag before the commencement of its duties.
AHTS vessels play a crucial role in the offshore energy sector, specializing in tasks such as anchor handling, platform towing, logistical support, and emergency response. The addition of Skandi Fluminense and Skandi Lifter to Petrobras’ fleet underscores DOF Group’s commitment to delivering high-quality services in the offshore industry.
