Fugro Wins Contracts for German North Sea Wind Farms

Fugro, a leading provider of geotechnical and geophysical services, has secured contracts to conduct site surveys for the development of two significant offshore wind farms in the German North Sea.

The projects, named Windbostel Ost and Windbostel West, are a collaboration between energy giants RWE and TotalEnergies and are set to generate a combined 4 GW of renewable energy, making them among the largest offshore wind ventures in Europe.

The surveys conducted by Fugro will provide crucial data for foundation design, structural integrity assessments, subsea cable routing, and risk management throughout the construction and operational phases of the wind farms.

This recent contract further solidifies Fugro’s presence in Germany’s offshore wind sector, following previous involvement in projects such as the Nordseecluster, a 1.6 GW wind farm where RWE has a majority stake, and preliminary investigations for the German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH).
