Global Gravity Appoints Tom Rasmussen as CEO
Global Gravity, a leading tubular systems developer, has announced the appointment of Tom Rasmussen as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). With over 25 years of experience in offshore and oil and gas operations, Rasmussen brings a wealth of industry knowledge to his new role.
Rasmussen officially assumed the position of CEO on January 1, 2025, after previously serving as the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO). Under his leadership, Global Gravity has seen significant growth and success, particularly with the development of the patented TubeLock system.
The TubeLock system, designed for handling offshore pipes, casing, and tubing, has not only increased revenue for the company but has also expanded its global presence. Global Gravity now operates in multiple markets across Europe, the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, and Guyana, with plans to enter Brazil in the near future.
Rasmussen has played a crucial role in driving awareness of the TubeLock system, which was introduced in 2010 as the world’s first Tubular Transport Running System (TTRS). This innovative system has revolutionized offshore pipe handling by enhancing safety, efficiency, and space utilization.
As Rasmussen takes on his new role as CEO, he succeeds Kenneth Hagelskjær, the founder of Global Gravity, who will transition to the position of Chairman of the newly established board of directors. Hagelskjær will now focus on developing Engineered Market Solutions (EMS), a sister company that provides engineering, production, and services for the energy industry.
In a statement regarding his appointment, Rasmussen expressed his gratitude for the progress the company has made under his leadership. He highlighted the sixfold revenue growth since he joined Global Gravity six years ago and emphasized the value that the TubeLock system brings to clients in terms of optimizing pipe handling, cost savings, and reduced CO2 emissions.
With the success of the TubeLock system and the ongoing expansion of Global Gravity’s market presence, Rasmussen is confident in the company’s future prospects and its ability to continue driving innovation in the offshore and oil and gas industries.
