OLT Offshore LNG Toscana Secures 20-Year Extension for FSRU Toscana

Italy’s floating regasification terminal operator, OLT Offshore LNG Toscana, has recently announced that it has obtained a 20-year extension for the operation of its floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) located off the coast of Livorno. The FSRU Toscana, controlled by Snam and Igneo Infrastructure Partners, will continue its operations until the end of 2044 following the authorization granted by the Italian Naval Registry (RINA).

OLT Offshore LNG Toscana revealed that significant works were carried out to extend the useful life of FSRU Toscana during its extraordinary maintenance in April and June. The vessel resumed operations in November after the completion of these works.

With an annual regasification capacity of 5 billion standard cubic meters, the FSRU Toscana is currently fully booked until 2026/2027, according to the company’s statement.

Situated approximately 22 kilometers off the coast between Livorno and Pisa, FSRU Toscana is connected to the national grid through a 36.5-kilometer pipeline. Snam operates and manages the pipeline, with about 29.5 kilometers located at sea, 5 kilometers in the floodway, and the remaining 2 kilometers on dry land.
