Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry Secures Order for Six AHTS Vessels

Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry has recently announced that they have won a significant order for six 65-meter anchor handling tug and supply (AHTS) vessels. This is a major milestone for the Chinese shipbuilder, showcasing their expertise and capabilities in the maritime industry.

The design and development of the vessels will be overseen by Shanghai Jiahao Marine Engineering Research and Design, ensuring that the vessels meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

One of the key features of these AHTS vessels is their electric propulsion system, which offers enhanced efficiency and environmental benefits. Additionally, the vessels will be equipped with fully rotating propellers, bow and stern thrusters, and a DP-2 dynamic positioning system, ensuring optimal maneuverability and control.

These vessels have a strong towing capacity, allowing them to handle large structures such as offshore drilling platforms and FPSOs. They are also capable of performing anchoring operations efficiently and effectively.

In addition to their primary functions, some of the AHTS vessels will also be equipped with rescue capabilities and firefighting equipment, further enhancing operational safety and versatility.

With this latest order, Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry’s order book now includes a total of 82 vessels, amounting to over 950,000 dwt. These orders comprise a variety of vessel types, including general cargo ships, bulk carriers, container ships, and offshore vessels, with deliveries scheduled until 2028.
