PG Renewables: Pritchard-Gordon Group Expands into European Offshore Wind Sector

British-owned Pritchard-Gordon Group has made its mark in the European offshore wind and marine energy sectors with the establishment of PG Renewables, a specialized company focusing on offshore and nearshore unexploded ordnance (UXO) clearance.

PG Renewables, a subsidiary of the Pritchard-Gordon Group, is dedicated to supporting offshore wind farm developers by minimizing risk and enhancing productivity through the expertise of explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) specialists and advanced techniques.

The company offers a range of UXO clearance services, including high and low-order clearance, utilizing cutting-edge remote ordnance lifting systems that have been proven at scale.

“The PG Renewables team has a proven track record of success in the UXO space, having completed over 10 wind farm and 5 subsea infrastructure projects without incident. We are thrilled to be at the forefront of this sector as a British company with extensive experience in marine operations,” stated Company Director, Henry Keane.

PG Renewables has also joined forces with EORCA UK, a leading provider of EOD solutions, to offer top-notch equipment and expertise. EORCA UK has conducted nearly 2,000 UXO mitigations across the UK, Europe, and the USA.

“I am excited to be a part of the PG Renewables team,” expressed Adrian Dann, Owner of EORCA UK and Technical Authority for EOD at PG Renewables.

“With extensive experience in mitigating almost 2000 pieces of UXO using innovative techniques, the formation of PG Renewables enables us to support clients in development projects and unplanned interventions with proven capability,”

PG Renewables offers a comprehensive range of services, including UXO re-acquisition and identification, offshore and nearshore clearance using divers or remotely operated vehicles (ROV), and explosive disposal through high- and low-order techniques. The company also provides project support, such as documentation, risk assessments, and the provision of multi-role vessels. In addition, PG Renewables deploys a remotely operated lifting system for safe UXO removal and a multi-shot ROV placement system to enhance efficiency during clearance operations.
