Ocean Power Technologies Signs Reseller Agreement to Expand Presence in Mexican Maritime Market

U.S.-based low-carbon marine power, data, and service solutions provider Ocean Power Technologies (OPT) has recently announced a new reseller agreement with a Latin America-based partner aimed at supporting the Mexican offshore and maritime markets.

This strategic partnership marks a significant milestone for OPT, as it will enable the company to broaden its commercial footprint across Latin America by leveraging the reseller’s regional presence and strong relationships within Mexico.

As part of the agreement, the partner will be responsible for offering business development, sales, and technical support services for OPT’s innovative solutions. Additionally, the agreement includes a substantial $3 million purchase commitment for OPT’s WAM-V Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs).

Commenting on the partnership, Philipp Stratmann, CEO of Ocean Power Technologies, stated, “This collaboration establishes a robust channel for the deployment of our intelligent maritime solutions in Mexico, spanning various sectors such as security, energy, and commercial markets. It further solidifies our ongoing efforts in Latin America and aligns with our strategic objective of expanding globally through key partnerships.”

Overall, this reseller agreement signifies a significant step forward for OPT in tapping into the potential of the Mexican maritime market and underscores the company’s commitment to driving sustainable and efficient solutions for the marine industry.
