Solstad Maritime Secures Contract for Normand Pioneer Construction Support Vessel

Norwegian offshore vessel owner, Solstad Maritime, has recently announced that its Normand Pioneer construction support vessel (CSV) has secured a new contract with the end-client, Petrobras. This contract marks a significant milestone for Solstad Maritime and highlights the company’s continued success in the offshore industry.

The contract will see the Normand Pioneer operating on a bareboat basis from Solstad Maritime to Solstad Offshore (SOFF), the contract holder with Petrobras. This partnership demonstrates the strong collaborative efforts between the involved parties to deliver high-quality services to Petrobras.

One of the key features of this contract is the mobilization of the Normand Pioneer with a heave-compensated E-type gangway system from Ampelmann. This state-of-the-art system will enhance the vessel’s capabilities and ensure safe and efficient operations during the contract period, which is set to begin in October 2025.

The duration of the contract is 180 days firm, with a gross value of approximately $17 million, including mobilization costs. This highlights the significant economic impact of the contract and the value that the Normand Pioneer will bring to Petrobras during the project.

Originally built in 1999, the Normand Pioneer features a UT 742 design and is capable of accommodating up to 73 people. Its robust construction and advanced capabilities make it a valuable asset for offshore operations, further solidifying Solstad Maritime’s position in the industry.

Overall, the new contract for the Normand Pioneer construction support vessel is a testament to Solstad Maritime’s expertise and commitment to delivering high-quality services to its clients. With this new project, Solstad Maritime continues to demonstrate its leadership in the offshore vessel sector and its ability to secure valuable contracts with key industry players like Petrobras.
