Tallink Grupp Sells Cargo Vessel Regal Star to Turkish Company

Tallink Grupp, a leading maritime company, announced that its subsidiary, Tallinn–Helsinki Lin, has successfully sold the cargo vessel Regal Star to the Turkish company Ams Line Shipping. The official handover of the vessel to its new owner took place on August 6, 2025, marking a significant transaction for both parties.

Following the recent sale of the passenger vessel Star I, the Paldiski – Kapellskär route has transitioned to operating with Superfast IX, which returned from long-term charter service in Canada. Regal Star, which previously served on the same route primarily as a cargo vessel, with occasional transportation of car passengers, has now found a new home with Ams Line Shipping.

Paavo Nõgene, CEO of AS Tallink Grupp, expressed that 2025 has been an active period for the company in terms of fleet adjustments and route optimization. He stated, “The sale of Regal Star supports efforts to align the size of our operational fleet with current market conditions. The decision to sell will not significantly impact our financial results for 2025.”

Nõgene further added, “The changes implemented in 2025, including the recent sale of Regal Star, are aimed at enhancing our operational efficiency under current conditions and reflect developments in our charter agreements, such as the return of Superfast IX to Estonia.”

With this strategic move, Tallink Grupp continues to adapt to the evolving maritime landscape while ensuring a streamlined and efficient fleet operation. The company remains committed to providing reliable and high-quality maritime services to its customers while maintaining a strong market presence.
